Assocaite yesterday published a new information on Intel X79 chipset and processor Sandy Bridge-E in LGA 2011. Intel X79 chipset can be presented this year, but this chipset will have to get rid of some previously planned features. In particular, the number of supported ports SATA / SAS, operating at 6 Gb / s was reduced to four pieces.
Moreover, the first generation Sandy Bridge-E processors LGA in 2011 may lose the support of PCI Express 3.0 bus. Intel could not find the equipment for testing PCI Express 3.0, and therefore the interface support will be implemented later.
Intel can provide desktop processors LGA in 2011 at the end of this year.
