The Japanese manufacturer Elpida memory chips desperately seeks a path to fix its finacnial situation , and as one of the options for addressing the company was considered an alliance with the Japanese manufacturer Toshiba . The initiator of companies integration favored the Japanese government, which wants to preserve national semiconductor manufacturers.
Elpida Memory company now plan to merge with U.S. Micron Technology and Taiwan's Nanya Technology. Elpida Debt obligations totaled $ 6.26 billion, of which $ 1.6 billion will have to return in late March or early April this year. The company is also trying to raise funds in the amount of $ 1.3 billion from the investment fund Innovation Network, which supports the technology sector.
Micron and Nanya are the technology partners and conduct joint development, as well as speak Taiwanese memory manufacturer Inotera Memories.
