ASUS introduced a new series of ultra-portable notebooks S.   Asus presented K46 and K56 models with screen sizes 14 and 15.6 inches respectively.  The case thickness of both models is 21 mm.  The mass of new products is 2 kg for models K46 and K56 for 2.3 kg. Screen resolution of both models is 1366 x 768 pixels.  The heart of new products will be Intel Ivy Bridge Core generation , from i3 series and finishing to top-end i7.  There are up to 8 GB of memory and a graphics card GeForce GT635M.  There will be two options: either hard disk 1 TB at a speed of 5400 r / min and solid-state drive capacity 24 GB as cache storage or 750 GB HDD capacity 7200 r / min and the same SSD.   Also, the device support new technology Super Hybrid Engine II, which allows to optimize the performance and power consumption depending on loading.  For audio quality is responsible software and hardware under the name ASUS SonicMaster Lite. ASUS also introduced a new external DVD ± RW drive connected to USB 2.0 - ASUS SDRW-08D3S-U.   From the technical characteristics we known only that it can write DVD ± R at speed  - 8x ,  mass is 365 grams and thickness - 20 mm.
