Google's interest in the automotive segment is not limited to an initiative for the development of automatically controlled vehicles. This week, the company filed a patent application for a system of management of individual components by gestures.
The technology relies on the use of fixed camera on the ceiling and interior laser scanner that allow to interpret the gestures of the driver's commands. It is assumed that initially the system will allow to manage simple operations such as switching radio stations, telephone answering and lowering / lifting side windows.
In fact, already present on the market solutions facilitate manipulation of the vehicle controls. Touchscreens in some car navigation and entertainment are combined with the proximity sensor, and a call for some of the menu does not need to touch the screen. Related Products :
