Most modern advanced driver assistance systems are based on several types of devices: digital cameras (including infrared), ultrasonic sensors and laser radars. In addition, on-board computer receives data from the main vehicle systems: the rotation speed of wheels and the direction . Even information about the location of vehicle by satellite and the surrounding terrain helps, for example, recommend driving mode or control head lights. Modern cars already can automatically create complex light beams, which can not be described in traditional terms. Keep the car in the lane assist camera and radar that read road markings, special camera remembers signs and duplicate it on the projection screen, they also allow to assess the degree of driver fatigue from his behavior and attitude. Cars are able to automatically brake before obstacles .
Colleagues from the site Engadget reports that the car brand Mercedes-Benz will be equipped with components made by LG, it allow to construct driver assistance systems new generation. Korean suppliers will supply Mercedes cameras different types of biometric systems to assess the state of the driver, as well as components for infotainment system and telecommunication solutions.
Cooperation will be mutually beneficial - in return gain access to LG Mercedes developments in the field of autonomous driving, and will be able to offer these solutions to other partners from the automakers. Demonstration of individual development will be carried out at CES 2015.
