Tuesday, May 12 MediaTek company has officially announced the launch of the world's first 10-core mobile processor MediaTek Helio X20. Preliminary data appeared on the web last week.
The composition of MediaTek Helio X2 includes three processor cluster. The first includes two high-performance core ARM Cortex-A72 2.5 GHz, and the other two consist of a total of four cores ARM Cortex-A53, the clock frequency of the first pair 1.4 GHz, and the second used for medium loads - 2.0 GHz . Each of the three clusters, allegedly for more efficient processing of various processes. For the distribution of tasks between the cores used technology MediaTek CorePilot 3.0. And for the new graphics chip is responsible ARM Mali.
The new single-chip platform reduces power consumption compared to two-cluster processors up to 30%, and 12 per cent increase in productivity in carrying out everyday tasks and 15 per cent in the case of resource-intensive tasks. Also the new processor supports LTE Cat-6.
The first devices based on MediaTek Helio X20 will hit the market later this year. The new single-chip platform will be made in compliance with the 20-nm process. Related Products :
