The screens made on AMOLED technology (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode), have several advantages over LCD screens. Among them - the deeper color, enhanced viewing angles and reduced energy consumption. The main drawback of AMOLED-screen at the moment is their high cost. DuPont, could reduce the cost of AMOLED-production, which will begin production of HD-TVs with this technology.
For this purpose, DuPont entered into an agreement with certain Asian company, which will manufacture these TVs. The company name has not yet been disclosed, but most likely it will be Samsung. The first samples of AMOLED televisions, obviously, will be demonstrated publicly at CES, which will be held in Las Vegas in January 2012. DuPont is working with AMOLED since 2006, and its management believes that in 2012 finally will be time when their technology will be extended to the market broader. Related Products :
