Taiwan's Quanta QCT yesterday released a press release about the new server company's plans.  To clarify, Quanta QCT company - is a specially designed in May subdivision of one of the world's largest OEM- computers manufacturers, Quanta Computer company, for server sales in the U.S. under the name.  Quanta QCT summer celebrated the first new - server computer based on Intel Xeon.  New development - server rack Stratos S900-X31A - will be based on Intel Atom processor. The Atom processors , as well as their potential competitors in the face of processor with ARM microarchitecture are good for many tasks.  First of all - WEB-servers with their increased loading, but in recent years a new trend - the processing of so-called big data.  In the latter case we are talking about the same WEB-problems, but in the broader perspective.   Demonstration of server on Intel Atom company Quanta QCT hold in the fall session IDF 2012.  This high unit 3U, which fits up to 48 nodes, each consumes more than 10 w , Server is scalable with hot-plug.  Each board - two node.  As a processor, for obvious reasons are selected a server solution Intel Atom, known to us under the codename Centerton.  Centerton processor are manufactured using 32-nm process technology, the memory controller has to support ECC, 64-bit microarchitecture and consumes less than 6W.  Delivery of Centerton processors in mass quantities will begin this year.  Quanta QCT company promises to start selling  Centerton servers in the end of year .
