Chinese company Huawei announced its plans to overtake Apple in the global smartphone market. And, it seems, it did it, as evidenced by the data of the research firm Counterpoint.
According to the report of Counterpoint, referenced by our colleagues from GizmoChina , in the period from June to July 2017, Huawei became the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, ahead of Apple, but inferior to Samsung. Sales of Huawei smartphones were high in August, and therefore we will not be surprised if the Chinese company takes the second place and last month. But the joy of Huawei, most likely, will be short-lived. This month, Apple will launch a new generation of
iPhone, including the iPhone 8, which will allow it to win the second place in the market.
Also, Counterpoint analysts named the best-selling smartphone models in June-July. Leaders are the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which account for 4 and 2.9% of sales. They are followed by Oppo R11, Oppo A57, Samsung Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, Samsung Galaxy S8 +, iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 model year. Related Products :
