In this block AMD will announce the chipset AMD RD790, which proposes the support of four graphic card. According to last data, the north bridge RD790 support 41 line PCI express, this will be more than sufficient to support four slots, which work in regime PCI express x8. As we already reported, only three of four video card in crossfire 2.0 regime will be occupied by graphic acceleration , the fourth video card will be used for physics acceleration . The technology crossfire 2.0 will become the part of platform FASN8, which implies to the use of two four core processors in desktop system. Associate published forecasts about the speed increase speed , ensured due to use of three video card in crossfire regime. If after transfer from of one video cards to two video cards speed increase in games could compose 80%, then after the transfer from one video card to three it can reach 160%. In other words, the graphic system performance can grow by 2,6 times in comparison with single video card. Real increase, certainly, will depend on concrete situation , drivers .... The official announcement of that long-awaited chipset RD790 will take place in the end of September. The first time it will be completed by old south bridge SB600, and only during November it will move to the south bridge SB700. | ||
