The annual conference of ARM - ARM TechCon 2013, has reported a lot of interesting things, including news about new video core Mali-T760/T720 .  Rambus,  demonstrated an improved version of the memory DDR4 DRAM.  DDR4 memory will be supported in the next year by platform  Altera and, apparently, server platforms from Intel.  In 2015 and 2016 it promises to get into personal computing on Intel and AMD.  Of course, Rambus company  has a certain reputation, which can keep the memory manufacturers away , but the promises are delicious: to double the speed of the interface DDR4, reduce the consumption of strips, reduce the cost of chips production and reduce the level of defects in the issuance of a new memory type that in the early stages is quite important. Rambus proposal is simple enough.  The company proposes to move to asymmetric data transmission and thus make  memory blocks on the PLL delay signals that simplify wiring and reduce the number of transistors on a chip DRAM. Rambus company  launched a demonstration of a set  modules DDR4.  On the oscilloscope screen was a visible enough clean signal.  In the future, the technology R +, as it is called by Rambus, will provide an opportunity to raise the exchange rate on the interface DDR4 to 6.4 Gbit / s  and reduce consumption by a quarter.
