At a recent conference Linaro Connect developer of Linux - Linus Torvalds - gave unqualified preference for x86-compatible processors, when asked to give an assessment x86 and ARM. According to this, no doubt, an outstanding personality, x86-architecture platform and ecosystem have the most important quality programming - the continuity and compatibility. Written for both Intel and AMD processors traditional software will run on computers of different generations and hardware from any manufacturer. Articles on processors with ARM architecture can not afford such compatibility. At the same time, Torvalds admitted that ARM instructions have the advantage over the set of instructions for x86-compatible processors. In all cases, the use of ARM-architecture building has to individually build upon the code of operating systems and applications. This approach makes it difficult to spread platforms and devices based on ARM architectures. | ||
