If the game industry  experiencing a deficit of quality games in a particular genre, then this is exactly the genre of urban simulators.   But there is still a spark of hope.  Today, the companies Paradox Interactive and Haemimont Games have announced Surviving Mars - a town-planning simulator, in which we will colonize the fourth planet from the Sun. In fact, we have before us a traditional urban simulator, but with elements of the game process, which the developers deemed necessary in the Martian setting.  Players have to monitor access to oxygen, competently develop infrastructure, grow food, extract resources and meet the needs of the population.  The latter, by the way, can become a source of serious problems.
