One of the participants of the South Korean forum CoolEnjoy.net removed the cover from the flagship model Core i9-7980XE, which offers 18 cores with Hyper-Threading support.  Replacing the original thermal interface with a more efficient one, the author of the experiment was able to lower the temperature of the processor under load at nominal frequencies to less than 60 degrees Celsius. With the help of a water block, the processor managed to overclock to 4.8-5.0 GHz, depending on the test.  The activity of all eighteen cores and Hyper-Threading was preserved at the same time. In the "physical" part of the test 3DMark Fire Strike managed to score 38 889 points. The video card GeForce GTX 750 Ti was used, therefore it is senseless to draw conclusions on the results of the graphic tests.
