This week appeared some rumors, which says that AMD can be divided in two companies in order to increase the effectiveness and decrease the current crisis. AMD representatives actually asserted that the company needs reorganization using the developed strategy, named asset-smart, regularly mentioned in investors conversations recently. However, concrete details about asset-smart are not available, witch resulted in diverse assumptions. According to one opinion, AMD will be divided in two companies, one will become the semiconductors contract producer , and the second will be occupied exclusively by the development of central and graphic processors, chipset multimedia chips and other products. In theory this distribution actually can repair AMD financial position , since production structure will be able to obtain profit from collaboration with external customers and not to depend exclusively on the state of affairs in the engineering subdivision. These rumors demonstrate a tendency to increase the company action during last days . However, it cannot be asserted that AMD section will assuredly give positive effect. | ||
