More than year ago , western digital company announced the hard disks caviar GP, which support the technology intelliPower, which changes the rotation speed from 5400 to 7200 rp/min in order to save energy and this allowed to reduce the energy consumption level by 4-5 W in comparison with other HDD with analogous capacity. In this series WD presented hard disk with 1024 Gb (1 Tb) volume .
The in the beginning of current month western digital company stated about the release of a new HDD caviar green, built on base of Plate with 333 Gb capacity . The model WD10EADS with 1Tb volume , for example, is equipped with 32 mb buffer, and models with 500, 640 and 750 Gb volume : only 16 mb cache.  Western digital declares, that HDD with the technology greenPower compose 10% of its deliveries volume . Tera-byte model became also up to 20% more economical and up to 10% faster than its predecessor (first generation).
