Here is the observed result :
We selected this test for evaluation of average performance in different applications . PCMark vantage is not completely synthetic, it measures the real processor performance , memory and other components and it imitates the algorithms utilized in real applications. This test contains four categories (Music, Communication, Productivity and Game), so there is here a certain dependence on graphic processor .
Results confirmed our hypotheses, the installation of processor with higher frequency (and larger cache) ensures increase by 16-20% , but here with 70% cost increase , whereas in ase of video card the maximum improvement was 11% with passage from integrated video core to the low-end video card, but in the remaining cases the performance boost do not exceed 7%, The replacement of 8400GS to 8800GT (increase in card cost by 500%) result in only 14% boost .
