The consumer qualities of quad-core next-generation Tegra (Kal-El) are currently limited to the power level which will not pass Tegra 2, and the performance level which will be better five times. This will be achieved using the same 40 nm process technology which impresses . At the quarterly report , NVIDIA president announced that Kal-El processors will consume less power than Tegra 2 in all operating modes. This will be achieved through a more flexible management of processor resources within the new architecture. The first products based on Kal-El processors should be available for Christmas sales season, which begins in November. If we talk about Tegra processors in general, in the second quarter, they were used in 53 mobile products. Two-thirds of released Tegra processors are used in smart phones, one-third is Tablet PC. With the release of Kal-El Tegra processors will be increasingly used in laptops. | ||
