Assocaite reported interesting information about TSMC production plans , win this case we deal with the launching of ceremony fifth phase Fab 14 - factory which will produce 20nm chips in 2014. One of the first TSMC factory to master the production of 20 nm production in 2013 will be the sixth phase Fab 12. The first four phases Fab 14 now release monthly about 550,000 silicon wafers in 300 mm size, providing an annual production volume of about $ 6 billion . The number of professionals employed in the production increase from the current 4,600 by 4,500 more people. After starting the sixth phase Fab 14 area of clean rooms will reach 87,000 sq.m. This is four times the size of average factory, which produces 300 mm wafers. TSMC chairman report that the company intends to overtake rivals in the rate of 20nm technology development. Now Intel manufactures processors on 22 nm technology, TSMC has mastered the mass production of 28-nm chips. The first 20 nm product from TSMC will go in 2013. Intel already has samples of 14 nm products. | ||
