Not so long ago - ten years ago - the leading quartet companies from Taiwan, which include the company's Asustek Computer and Gigabyte Technology, in addition to motherboards began to produce - peripherals, laptops, and, finally, tablets and smartphones.  PC market began to decline, so our heroes have started to search for  new directions.   In particular, according to a popular Taiwanese Internet resource DigiTimes, Asustek company began to reorganize the business tablet that occurred in the first half 2016.  Gigabyte company plans to do the same - to organize the work of a number of low-performing subsidiaries: Gigabyte Communications (released under the smartphones GSmart brand) and Gigazone International (busy with the release of the PC and peripherals). Gigabyte Technology company assures a mandatory saving service and support all products under the brands listed above.  At the same time the activities of research, development and sale of these units will be permanently stopped and the personnel laid off or transferred to the other (profitable) business unit. The company Asustek Computer, which, as already mentioned, in the first half of this year, began to rebuild the tablet business, significantly reduced the number of new tablets models and volume ir deliveries in 2016.  Several hundred people of staff involved  the business (development, sales, and so on), the company is trying to transfer to other areas, including the development of devices augmented and virtual reality, as well as smartphones.  The process is reported to be continued until mid-2017.
