In late March, a Chinese source said that Samsung's first folding smartphone, known as the Galaxy X, will be released earlier than Galaxy Note 8 . Allegedly its announcement is scheduled for the third quarter of 2017. But it seems that the first Samsung smartphone with a folding display we will not see either this year or the next. Samsung Display engineer Kim Tae-woong said that the technologies for folding smartphones "will mature by 2019". Samsung, does not want to rush and will not release a folding smartphone ahead of time, because now on the mobile market there is an equally interesting trend - smartphones with frameless displays.  Samsung and LG have been developing flexible displays for mobile devices for several years. But they are not the only companies that are interested in the release of folding smartphones. Last year, Lenovo Corporation demonstrated a prototype of an unusual smartphone, which thanks to a flexible screen can be worn on the wrist in the form of a bracelet.
