IDC experts in their new report said that the tablet market is declining for the tenth consecutive quarter, and in the past quarter it shrank by 8.5% compared to the same period last year. Sales of the tablets reached a peak in 2014, and have since been steadily declining. The authors of the report tend to blame for this not only the higher dependence of consumers on smartphones, but also the lack of significant progress in the technical filling and form factors of tablets. In total in the
world in the first quarter this year, 36.2 million tablet devices were sold.
Apple retains almost a quarter of the market, although it is inferior to Samsung's position. However, three other major tablet manufacturers, Huawei, Amazon and Lenovo, also increased their market share over the past year - most likely due to smaller players. Huawei in general managed to increase tablet sales by 31.7%, but thanks to it you need not only available Android-models with built-in modems, but also a growing share of Windows-devices of this brand.
IDC experts note that among the transformed devices from time to time the favorites change on the basw of the method of transformation into the tablet. Sales volumes of devices with an attached keyboard cease to grow, and options with a detachable keyboard block begin to win back positions. The latter will be more popular in the foreseeable future, but some "bursts of popularity" of devices with an attached keyboard are also not excluded. Related Products :
