According to the popular Taiwanese Internet resource DigiTimes, the Taiwanese DRAM memory manufacturer Nanya Technology sold some of its shares to the US memory manufacturer Micron Technology. The Taiwanese company believes that this will not affect the partnership relations of producers, and proceeds from the sale of shares will go to the needs of improving production and reducing the financial burden of loans.
In total, Nanya sold 1.2 million shares of Micron at $ 31.55 for each, which brought her $ 39.88 million before taxes. Clean company will receive $ 17.99 million. Thus, the share of Nanya in Micron will decrease from 5.26% to 5.11%. The Taiwanese manufacturer will continue to own 56.51 million shares of Micron.
The company Nanya Technology became a shareholder of Micron during last year's deal to acquire the company Micron shares of another Taiwanese memory manufacturer - the company Inotera Memories. The latter was a joint venture between Micron and Nanya, until in December 2016 the American manufacturer DRAM bought out all of Inotera's shares from the partner. Instead, Nanya acquired some of Micron's shares, for which it received permission and a license to release memory using two generations of 10-nm DRAM Micron (1x and 1y). So it is necessary to sell shares of the partner with caution.
