Fortunately, experts Jon Peddie Research  just published a report on the discrete graphics segment.   Total in the fourth quarter of last year sold about 15 million video cards - this is 3% more than in the third quarter and the same 3% higher than a year earlier.  Desktop market on a quarterly comparison increased by 4.45% and for the year decreased by 6.1%. AMD graphics cards quantity shipped during the transition from the third to the fourth quarter decreased by 3%, and NVIDIA has increased by 3.6%.  While the share of AMD decreased from 35.4% to 35% (previous year it was equal to 34.2%, so that we can talk about some of the progress in the previous quarter), and NVIDIA has increased its share from 64.5% to 64.9% but was not able to play a year earlier (65.5%).   Matrox and S3, which are present on the market almost nominally, there is a steady regression.  First reduce the market share for the year from 0.2% to 0.1%, and the second - from 0.1% to 0.05%.   Four players of the market of discrete graphics solutions, according to the authors of the report, based on 51 ready graphics card vendor.  If in the first quarter of 2008 discrete graphics card could boast 63% of desktop computers, in the fourth quarter of last year, this figure did not exceed 42.8%.  Integrated graphics comes as already reported in the previous report.   Related Products :
