Approximately in 2007-2008,  companies began to gradually replace   CCD-sensors with type CMOS sensor, and then proceeded to build a serious issue with it is CMOS-matrix image.  Matrix type CMOS image perfectly lay on the eponymous process technology, were cheaper and by the mid-2000s in quality were approaching the CCD-sensor.  Digital photo and now smartphones tablets demonstrate satisfactory and even good quality of digital photographs taken on CMOS-matrix.  Logical that the next step will minimize the release of CCD-sensors to their complete disappearance. Sony has already announced the production of folding CCD-sensors up to 2020.  Phased stop 200-mm lines at the  Kagoshima Technology Centre will begin in March 2017 with a complete cessation of  production cycle in 2020.  In parallel, the company is stepping up production of CMOS-sensor.  After 2020, will remain a number of independent producers CCD-matrix, which can satisfy the special need of this matrix type.
