The so-called AMD Day continues, however, already under the direction of another author. In addition to the official announcement of the prices and the date of the release of the Ryzen Threadripper processors, AMD within the framework of Capsaicin SIGGRAPH 2017 also demonstrated the overclocking potential of these processors, allowing several overclockers to spend time with the novelties in a familiar manner, TechPowerUp informs.
The enthusiasts managed to overclock all sixteen cores of the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor up to 5.2 GHz using liquid nitrogen, by increasing the multiplier of the clock to x52 at its standard frequency of 100 MHz. And on this very rather big for such a processor frequency, the novelty managed to pass Cinebench R15, and also set a record for 16-core processors - 4122 points. It is reported that the previous record was only 2867 points, while a similar result was achieved only on 28 cores.
According to the CPU-Z utility, the voltage on the core was 1.16 V, which seems unlikely, and most likely this value was closer to 1.5 V. We also note that four-channel memory with a frequency of 2133 MHz was used for the purity of the experiment. Related Products :
