Samsung company released a new HDD model ecoGreen F2 (HD154UI).
In the new HDD , the volume, energy consumption and low noise level are the main characteristics, whereas the rotation speed is only 5400 RP/Min. The presence of 32 MB cache allows this HDD to demonstrate respectable results in tests. Thus, the constant reading speed reaches 107 MB/s with the access time 8,9 ms. This new HDD supports the technologies silentSeek and NoiseGuard, it is released in the 3,5 inches standard , it is equipped with SATAII interface. Sales Of samsung ecoGreen F2 in Japan started, its price is only 130 dollars (The expected USA retail price is only 110-100$ , for 1.5 TB and 107 Mb/s this is already a very good proposal).
