Samsung electronics company declared about a new HDD . The new device was called Samsung EcoGreen F2EG and it is based on three plates with 500 GB volume, the summary volume is equal 1,5 TB. According to the producer , increase in the writing density and the decrease in the number of plates allow to increase the energy effectiveness .
Among the technologies, which ensure reduction in the energy consumption, heat emission and noise, Samsung calls the development ecoTriangle. In the idle regime F2EG consumes up to 40% less energy, and in the (read/write) regimes up to 45% less than comparable competitors products . Samsung ecoGreen F2EG is available in three versions : volume 500 GB, 1 and 1,5 TB, equipped with 16 or 32 MB cache and SATA 3 Gbit/s interface. The recommended retail price of the 1.5 TB model is equal to $149. | ||
