Intel  Haswell-E, which officially debuts in two weeks, will require new motherboards with socket LGA 2011-3.  As explained by the Austrian company Noctua, cooler retention mechanism on the motherboard will be the same as in the case of the classical LGA 2011. Specifically Product Noctua, all equipped fixtures SecuFirm2 coolers can be operated without any further adaptation.  In particular, this applies to models of coolers NH-D15, NH-D14 SE2011, NH-U14S, NH-U12S. Fastening system SecuFirm2,  already offers a set of bindings NM-I2011, providing compatibility with socket LGA 2011-3. Table shows how CPU coolers Noctua may require a new set of bindings to work with Haswell-E.  The second table gives the same information for discontinued coolers: Model NH-L12 provides a set of washers NM-IPS2, allows you to mount the cooler to the motherboard with socket LGA 2011-3 without replacing fastening.
