IBM has moved away from the issue of the computer systems of mass demand. Now its sphere of interest lies in the creation of supercomputers, cloud solutions to large business and the development of specialized software.
IBM is trying to use some built into bitcoin concepts and technical solutions for a global payment system, in the back of which would be attended by national currencies. Clients of such a system could work without centralized processing centers and related service fees. As is the case with bitcoin, the transaction list for each currency would fall into the public register , consisting of a circuit of encrypted blocks.
Sources claim that IBM has been in talks with a number of central banks, including the US Federal Reserve. If the idea of creating such a payment system is approved, IBM is ready to create a suitable infrastructure. Interestingly, the representatives of the Central Bank of the United Kingdom in September last year has openly expressed sympathy for the idea of collective public register, calling it an essential innovation that can change the existing financial system.
