The motives of HTC, which decided to single out the direction of reality devices in an independent company, were quite obvious - the manufacturer, who suffered from failure in the smartphone segment, wanted to distance himself from them. The new company could attract investments, abstracting from the "legacy of smartphones." We already know that Asustek Computer plans to use the engineering resources released on the flatbed to develop devices for virtual and augmented reality. Now DigiTimes website with reference to the Chinese edition of Commercial Times informs that Asustek is ready to create a subsidiary company engaged in developments in the field of virtual and augmented reality.
The company will be called Glamorfy Taiwan, and at its own expense, it has already recorded the development of software for the "virtual fitting" of makeup with a voice interface. The division will include specialists from Asustek, who previously worked on the development of various interfaces. They managed to put their hand to the creation of devices of virtual and mixed reality Asus, which will be released before the end of this year. Since Glamorfy will focus on software development, the corresponding solution for the Windows 10 platform will also be released in the fourth quarter of this year. Over time, Glamorfy division can attract third-party investors and separate from Asustek Computer.
